Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships

Predoctoral fellowships provide three years of support for individuals engaged in graduate study leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree. Fellowships are awarded in a national competition administered by the Fellowships Office of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on behalf of the Ford Foundation. The awards will be made to individuals who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level in the U.S.

CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship Program

The Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. Approximately eight awards of up to $10,500 each will be given each year.

Newton International Fellowships

The Newton International Fellowship selects the very best early stage post-doctoral researchers to work at one of three participating academies. The Royal Society is open for applications within the remit of natural sciences, which includes but is not limited to biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. Applicants for clinical or patient-oriented research should apply to the Academy of Medical Sciences. Applicants for social science and humanities should apply to the British Academy.

German Historical Institute Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships
