As a world-class music conference, WOMEX, comprises a trade fair, talks, films, and showcase concerts. To strengthen the role of culture around the world, WOMEX and its delegates hope to nurture and promote art and creativity. WOMEX aims to support the role of culture around the globe and to spread its values through the nurturing and promotion of creativity and art.

Over 2,600 professionals (including 260 performing artists) come together every October from 90 countries, making WOMEX the leading networking platform for the world music industry. Its musical spectrum is unparalleled in the international showcase performance market, ranging from the most traditional to the new global local underground, embracing folk, roots, jazz, local and diaspora cultures as much as urban and electronic sounds from all over the globe.

WOMEX hosts 7 stages, around 700 exhibiting companies, 100+ speakers, films, an opening concert and an award ceremony across five packed networking days and rather short nights.

WOMEX and its community aim to support and strengthen the role of culture around the globe and to spread its values through nurturing and promoting creativity and music. As a result, the local and global music community is able to and needs to contribute to cross-cultural understanding in a welcoming, tolerant, diverse and productive manner.

The event remains devoted to facilitating and promoting the global music industry and providing a platform to connect, inspire and share experiences, enabling new partnerships across transcontinental markets and an open economic and international cultural dialogue.

Lex Fellowship – Pre-Law

Lex Fellowship
The Lex Fellowship offers pre-law internships in various European cities for students to gain valuable legal experience while at the same time improving and demonstrating most of the competencies law schools evaluate. Therefore, through law firm immersion, participants will gain valuable legal understanding while experiencing vibrant cities that will enrich their appreciation of international cultures.

Furthermore, Lex is the only legal experiential education program tailored for pre-law students in and surrounding the college years. Their team has run study abroad programs for almost 15 years and pre-law-specific programs for over six years. After participating in Lex and graduating from college, Lex alums have gone on to attend most U.S. law schools. Simply put, Lex operates short-term programs (1-10 weeks) over school breaks, aimed at U.S. undergraduates, and taking place primarily in the U.S. and Europe. As a result, Lex programs allow students to gain relevant study abroad experience, understand the life of a lawyer, and stand out on law school applications.

At its core, Lex programs are robust regarding law firm exposure, legal training, and extended learning opportunities that prepare students for the law school admissions process and the first year. Housing accommodations, daily breakfast, weekly group meals, travel health insurance, cultural excursions, and on-site transportation are included. Each program has a dedicated Legal Associate to assist students during law firm visits and conduct legal training.
<br/For their regular programs, you must be at least 18 years old by the time your program is set to start, attending or recently graduated from college, highly interested in law, and exhibit; a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher, Interpersonal skills, Commitment to teamwork, Professionalism, Flexibility in new environments, A clear vision for why the Lex Fellowship is the right fit for them at this time. If you are an international student, you are responsible for researching and acquiring any travel documents you may need in order to travel to your program destination(s).
