The World Food Prize is awarded for the advancement of human development with a demonstrable increase in the quantity, quality, availability of, or access to food through creative interventions at any point within the full scope of the food system.

This award recognizes exceptional, science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under the age of 40.

Applications are open for the West Africa Centre for Water Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA) Masters & PhD scholarship 2021/2022. The scholarship is provided by the government of Ghana and the World Bank (WB) to support promising African students to pursue masters & PhD study programs.

During each two-year fellowship cycle, 12-15 Leland Fellows are placed with international development organizations that include international and local NGOs, U.S. government agencies and multilateral organizations. Host organizations in the past have included Concern Worldwide, the UN World Food Program, Catholic Relief Services, Mercy Corps, and many more. Fellows work on a variety of food security issues, such as agricultural development, nutrition, natural resource management, agribusiness development and womens empowerment. CHC provides each fellow a financial package designed to support living expenses, and help offset the costs of housing, relocation, and acquisition of public market health insurance.
