World Hepatitis Day

This world day is an opportunity to highlight the need for a greater global response related to hepatitis and encourage actions and engagement by the international community, nations, individuals, partners, and the public. July 28 also is the birthday of Nobel-prize winning scientist Dr. Baruch Blumberg, who discovered hepatitis B virus and developed its vaccine.
