Kira is a recent graduate of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey with a Master’s degree in International Education Management. She brings a diverse background of experiences and years spent abroad. She spent five years as a child in Germany, where both her parents were stationed with the U.S. Army. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in English, she spent a year in Japan, teaching with the JET Program. She spent some time back in the States, working in higher education, home health, and office administration, before she got the itch to go abroad again. She lived a total of four years in Mongolia; two volunteering with the Peace Corps and two as principal of an international school. More recently, she interned in the Study Abroad office at the University of California, Santa Cruz, assisting with the UC system’s first virtual study abroad fair. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
