An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 23 of June, repeating indefinitely
The UN recognizes this international day to draw attention to the experiences of widows and garner support for them and their children. Widows may experience a long-terms struggle for basic needs, human rights, and human dignity. They are often stigmatized and shamed and forced into silence as abuse against widows is normalized.
