An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 8 of September, repeating indefinitely
This international day is an opportunity for Governments as well as civil society to highlight improvements in world literacy rates, and reflect on the world’s remaining literacy challenges. In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, all young people and adults must achieve literacy and have access to quality education and learning opportunities.
