Pre-Med Abroad Program – Atlantis

Atlantis
Atlantis offers Pre-med students the opportunity to shadow doctors abroad across multiple medical specialties for 60+ hours. In fact, Atlantis programs give you significant clinical experience and one that is good enough to allow for the luxury of focusing more on grades during your semesters, while at the same time, refining and showcasing most of the 15 competencies that medical schools assess candidates on. This overall experience is part of why their alums can succeed in their healthcare paths post-college.

Atlantis is the global leader in healthcare experiential education in and surrounding the college years. They have run programs for almost 15 years. Additionally, Atlantis alums have gone on to attend almost all medical schools in the U.S after college. They operate short-term programs (1-10 weeks) over school breaks aimed at U.S. undergraduates and taking place primarily in the U.S. and Europe. Medical schools want three things: healthcare exposure, GPA/MCAT, and certain competencies; For that reason, Atlantis gives students the best version of the 1st, frees them to focus on the 2nd, and cultivates/shows the 3rd to medical school admissions committees.

Atlantis 360 Shadowing is a unique, time-tested model they have developed with over 100 hospital partners around the globe. Compared with regular shadowing or typical clinical experience, 360 Shadowing has far greater depth, breadth, quantity of hours, and intercultural perspective. And it takes place over college breaks, usually for a few weeks, almost always as a study abroad program in a developed-country healthcare system in one or more countries.
